About Us
We built this because it happened to us.
SpoofProof started with a former call-center worker who lived on the other side of the phone, seeing firsthand the tactics and methods of the call centers themselves. That inside knowledge became the reason SpoofProof exists: to defeat these calls upstream, before they ever reach you, instead of reacting to them after the fact.
It became personal fast. Our founder's own number was spoofed and used to scam people. That real number ended up flagged as spam on other people's phones for something he never did, and it's flagged to this day. Watching a blocklist punish the victim instead of the criminal is what convinced us that reactive tools were never going to be enough.
It got worse than a flagged number. A family member was targeted by a spoofed call and lost over $30,000 to the scam. That's not a statistic. That's someone we know. That could be YOUR granny.
Between watching the tactics up close, losing a number to false flags, and watching someone we love get robbed, something else showed up too: a personal need to make a difference in the world. That was the final ingredient. It's what turned this from an idea into a mission.
What we believe
Spam and scam calling isn't a nuisance industry. It's organized crime, run at scale because it's profitable, and it preys disproportionately on the people least equipped to fight back: seniors, the disabled, anyone taught to trust a phone call. We don't think that's an annoyance to be managed. We think it's a scourge worth fighting, and every subscriber who joins SpoofProof makes the math a little worse for the people running it.
